How to Measure for Your Safety Line Length

How do I know which size beaded line to order

To determine what size line you should purchase, measure from the point of connection on your hearing device to the place on an average collar where you would normally place your clip - head should be facing FORWARDS (the shirt clip and device attachment provide the extra length needed for head movements). The tape measure should not slag down against the neck when you take the measurement, but it is not necessary to pull it extremely tight either. In order to account for head movement, you should get a line that is about the same length as - or up to an inch longer than - this measurement (remember, that the shirt clip will add additional length). You will want to consider buying a few different lengths if you tend to wear shirts that vary greatly in how low cut they are in the back/front, depending on where you attach your shirt clip. If you are not sure if the length is correct, you can take a piece of string and hold one end where you would attach the safety line to your hearing device, and hold the other end - of the appropriate length - to your shirt and turn your head side to side and up and down. Adjust accordingly and remeasure.

NOTE:  Please do NOT add a few inches to your measurement to make sure you will have enough length to turn your head!!!  This slack will be accounted for in the attachment to the aid and in the clip sections of the system!
